It is recommended that at least once every two years or so, you should have a few soil samples of your lawn and beds taken to make sure that the ph and other factors are in check. Specialty Programs

Soil Amendment:

Do you have some bare areas in your lawn? Lime may be the solution, once applied lime moves very slowly down through the soil profile. In some situations this material may need to be mixed with the soil via a roto tiller. Lime raises the Ph of the soil thus making it better able to support turf. When we apply lime to an established lawn, we recommend doing so after a core aeration, with a aeration machine that pulls a 1.5" to a 2" plug of soil from the turf. Liming should be done a minimum of two weeks after a fertilizer treatment but other than this it can be applied at any time of the year.

Mole Abatement:

Moles destroy lawns by digging tunnels three to four inches under the soil surface, these tunnels will then cave in with very little pressure or rainfall. Once the tunnels cave in the top soil can wash away with a very light rainfall. To control this problem we will apply an abatement product to control moles inside their most recent tunnels. Once the first application is installed we will monitor the tunnels for two weeks and if needed re-apply the product until the moles are eliminated.

Lawn Overseeding:

Would you like to thicken up an existing lawn? or maybe you have a new lawn or bare area you would like to start growing some grass on. We can help you choose a grass type and apply that grass seed for you, and help you maintain that new lawn as it matures. We also will apply Rye Grass seed to your lawn to prepare it for winter or to hold top soil on a new lawn in the fall.

Flea & Tick Treatment:

If you have pets you are most likely very aware of these pest. Ferti-Lawn can apply a pesticide product to control an infestation in and around turf areas or as a preventative program to insure that your furry family members can enjoy the lawn without fear of these annoying pest.

MSMA Treatment:

MSMA is a herbicide product that will eliminate all grassy type weeds in an established Bermuda lawn. This should be a last ditch effort because of the cosmetic affects to the lawn, but when incorporated with proper nutrition and watering this product does an awesome job.

Lawn Aeration:

Aeration is the process of Loosening compacted soil and increasing the availability of water and nutrients, it also enhances oxygen levels in the soil, stimulating root growth and increasing the activity of thatch-decomposing organisms. We can aerate the turf at any time of the year, however spring and fall are usually the best times to aerate the lawn.

Grub Abatement:

White Grubs are the larvae of Japanese beetles. They feed on the roots of desired grass plants. They usually hide under the surface of your lawn and go unnoticed until the ugly brown spots appear. Unlike other lawn pest, grub damage will cause the sod to rise up in sheets. The best way to get rid of grubs is to manage them before they cause damage. Our Grub Abatement program will eliminate these pest at the first sign of infestation and keep them at bay year round.

Year Long Fire Ant Control:

This is a new Fire ant abatement program that we apply just once and it will last up to 52 weeks long. Although a bit pricey this is the perfect program for those of you who wish to totally eliminate imported fire ants on your property.

Plant Growth Regulators:

Plant growth regulators, or PGRs, offer a great many benefits. Home and Business owners usually think of them as tools to reduce plant growth, however this is just one of their attributes. We use PGRs both to reduce maintenance and to improve plant vigor, in the lawn and ornamental beds.
